Mgr Customer Finance, Easton PA
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Support the US Sales team by providing in-depth customer information by taking customer profitability into account and building on external customer relationships. Ensures that financial sales targets are achievable. Serves as a key link between the finance and sales divisions and will work with the SVP US Sales for ongoing analysis of profitability.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advises the sales GM's, directors and the SVP, US Sales on trading term negotiations and will consult on specific promotional activities.
- Monitors sales forecasts and actual sales activities, providing oversight and support to trade programs and Siebel. Acts as a key member of the S&OP Core Team that a) delivers the net revenue Plan, b) assesses opportunities to expand growth initiatives and c) manages sales forecasting, demand planning and inventory.
- Manages P1, P2, and Plan financial schedule preparation for the following areas:
- Selling SG&A
- Trade Allowances
- Sales Returns and Adjustments
- Customer Profitability
- Leads month-end close of the General Ledger, summarization of results, explanation of variances, and preparation of schedules for internal and external auditors.
- Educates the sales team and business partners on margins, the benefit of improved sales forecasting, the implications of trading terms on overall company results and customer profitability.
- Implement reporting tools, as necessary, to help effectively run the business (i.e. price increase monitoring, etc)
- Participates in up-front planning for customer terms and negotiations.
- Educate sales on customer and trade-class specific information on returns, markdowns, trade dollars, deductions, compliance fines, cost of doing business with the specific customer, payment terms, allowances, and customer's place in Crayola's strategy.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a minimum 6 years of financial experience.
- MBA and/or professional certification (CPA) required.
- Strong communication capabilities (oral, verbal and presentation)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft suite and SAP.
- Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Technical skills and experience in financial reporting and analysis and information technology. A thorough knowledge of supply chain processes.
- Strong communication capabilities (oral, verbal and presentation).
- Strong influencing skills. This position will be expected to attend sales calls, lead customer negotiations and enable overall customer penetration strategies.
