Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is looking for a Systems Administrator in North Charleston, SC. This is an onsite position.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise and tactical IT environments that support C4I systems. This role provides day-to-day support for servers, workstations, and networks while ensuring compliance with DoD security standards and mission requirements. Candidate will have privileged system access and must have CompTIA Security+ certification and ability to meet DoD Cybersecurity Workforce IAT Level II certification with an operating systems certificate (e.g. Linux+).

You Will:
- Perform administration of enterprise and tactical IT systems, including OS, virtualization, and networked services.
- Develop and enforce system architectures, standard operating procedures, and security policies.
- Perform implementation of RMF controls, STIG compliance, and continuous monitoring requirements.
- Maintain complex applications in Linux environments and Windows environments.
- Administer systems and applications like RHEL, SELinux, Firewall access control, Active Directory Integration, DNS.
- Perform automation and scripting using Ansible and other automation tools.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure system reliability and security.
- Support system integration, fielding, and troubleshooting across geographically distributed environments
You Have:
- US Citizenship
- Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance with ability to upgrade to Top Secret/SCI
- DoD 8140\8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (e.g. CompTIA Security+ certification)
- 3+ years of technical experience in system administration of Linux and Windows Operating systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Operating System Certificate (e.g., Linux+, Windows Server, CCNA, etc.)
- Knowledge of Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, ESXi), and domain architectures.
- Experience supporting ATO packages, RMF, and DoD 8500 series compliance.
- Hands-on experience managing and executing patching cycles for both RHEL and Windows environments, including scheduling, testing, deployment, and post-patch validation to ensure system stability, security compliance, and minimal downtime
- Experience with storage and backup solutions (e.g. NetApp, Rubrik)
- Experience with software-defined networking (e.g. NSX)
- Experience with HCI systems (e.g. VxRail)
- Demonstrated experience with automation and scripting using Ansible and other automation tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and the initiative to complete tasking without direction
- Excellent prioritization and coordination skills with the ability to work multiple deadlines under pressure
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
