Deli Counter Team Member - Slicer & Hot Foods If you love great food, fast-paced environments, and making someone's day with a perfect slice or a hot, delicious meal, this role is for you. We're looking for a friendly, reliable team member to join our deli-someone who takes pride in quality, cleanliness, and customer service .What You'll Do * Prepare and slice meats and cheeses with precision, consistency, and safety in mind * Serve hot, readytoeat foods while maintaining proper temperatures and presentation * Provide warm, attentive customer service-answering questions, offering suggestions, and creating a welcoming experience * Keep the deli area clean, stocked, and organized throughout your shift * Follow all food safety, sanitation, and equipment guidelines * Assist with prep work, packaging, labeling, and rotating products to ensure freshness What Makes You a Great Fit * You're upbeat, approachable, and enjoy helping customers * You're comfortable working with slicers, hot food equipment, and following safety procedures * You thrive in a busy environment and stay calm under pressure * You're detailoriented-whether you're slicing thin or plating hot meals * You're a team player who shows up ready to work and support your coworkers All skill levels welcomed. When you join us as a Food Clerk, you will provide customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. Build rapport with customers. Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language. Respond to customer questions in an effective manner. Stock product and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards. Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks. Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products for our customers. This position is applicable to the following departments: Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Grocery. What skills will you use? You are detail-oriented and organized. Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually. Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology. Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary. Process-driven with ability to follow procedures in an organized and efficient way. Ability to stay calm while working in a fast-paced environment. Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Meijer starts with me.
