DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or Supervising Pharmacist (SP) as required. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with State and Federal pharmacy laws and regulations. * Responsible for financial performance of the department including, but not limited to, MPP and Kronos, productivity, payroll and expenses. * Ensure and follow up on the communication, compliance and consistent execution of all standard practices and procedures, and company initiatives. * Data Verification of prescriptions for up to 50% of work week and oversee the daily office operations of the Central Processing facility. * Promote and participate in growing the pharmacy business through Company initiatives and the building of relationships within retail. * Responsible for development, efficient training and management of department associates and assist in the interviewing and hiring of pharmacy technicians. * Manage performance and documentation of all staff pharmacists through annual performance assessments and ongoing coaching and disciplinary efforts. * Coordinate weekly scheduling needs for the pharmacists-vacation coverage, etc. * Adhere to Company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs of maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards. * Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal and professional appearance at all times and comply with company personal appearance policy. * Maintain an organized workstation at all times. * Develop and maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with the Pharmacy Department, Pharmacy Operations, Store Manager/ARM, and local health care providers. * Foster a positive and enthusiastic environment to retain associates QUALIFICATIONS * Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. * Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing as required. * Current license in good standing in the state(s) in which to practice. * Current and active immunizing pharmacist and CPR certification. * Complete knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices. * Desire to be a motivated caring professional with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, other health care professionals, and the community at large. * Willingness to work a flexible schedule consistent with a stimulating retail environment, including nights, weekends and holidays. * Ability to handle multiple priorities and provide direction to associates. * High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. * Authorization to fill Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions. Physical Requirements * Accurate and efficient typing skills. * Stand/Sit 100% of the time with occasional walking short distances. * Using computer screen/keyboard/mouse/biometric devices 100% of the time. * Use hands frequently/continuously for keyboard and computer work to process prescription information. * Clerical accuracy and mathematical skills. * Ability to use staplers, calculators, communication and computer systems frequently. * Have sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to process prescriptions and service customers by phone. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * Data entry and verification of prescriptions accurately or supervise others in the process in accordance with current laws, ethical standards, and Company policies. * Provide outstanding customer service to our retail stores and MTM customers in the areas of prescription and OTC medications, durable medical equipment and other evolving health care needs to retail stores. * Act as a liaison between the store and health care professionals, patients and law enforcement. Comply with State and Federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices. Adhere to established Company standards of practice. 5.Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient and company information.
