Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with clear communication and strong customer service, while documenting key activity and supporting site operations. Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of government facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting unusual conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and local public services as needed.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing visitors to appropriate locations in accordance with site policy.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs such as incident reports, patrol activity, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
