RK&K is seeking an experienced Constructability/Scheduling Specialist to support our Construction Management team. In this influential role, you'll guide projects from early design through final inspection, ensuring constructability, maintainability, and schedule efficiency across a diverse portfolio of transportation projects. You'll collaborate with designers, engineers, and construction teams to identify risks early, streamline project delivery, and help refine best practices that elevate quality and reduce cost and schedule impacts. This is an opportunity for a seasoned construction professional to make a measurable impact on how major infrastructure projects are planned and delivered

What You'll Do



  • Integrate the Constructability/Maintainability Review Process into each assigned project
  • Develop and maintain projectspecific constructability and maintainability checklists
  • Participate in milestone meetings from Engineering & Environmental Scoping through Final Inspection and AfterAction Reviews
  • Assess earlystage design packages to determine the appropriate level of constructability review
  • Apply engineering expertise during Design Field Views and Design Review meetings to identify concerns and facilitate crossdiscipline solutions
  • Review design plans, supplemental plans, special provisions, and environmental permits for constructability
  • Support development of construction sequencing, phasing, and scheduling
  • Prepare and/or review prebid schedules for inclusion in bid documents
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of prebid construction schedules to identify inefficiencies or risks
  • Verify resolution of prior issues and communicate outstanding concerns before preconstruction meetings
  • Participate in Value Engineering (VE) proposal evaluations
  • Attend Final Inspections and AfterAction Review meetings
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of lessons learned, special provisions, production rates, and district best practices
  • Coordinate quarterly AAR meetings to refine project delivery processes and reduce work orders and schedule impacts


Required Skills & Experience



  • 15+ years managing heavy civil highway construction (consultant, owner, or contractor)
  • Strong background in roadway, utility, and structural construction
  • Ability to read and interpret roadway plans and specifications
  • Solid understanding of contractor means and methods
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes
  • Familiarity with contract specifications and standards
  • Proficiency with ECMS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Candidates without prior experience must demonstrate the ability to learn and use these tools quickly, efficiently and effectively
  • Understanding of project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost estimating, and claims avoidance and analysis
  • Able to read, write and speak professionally
  • Ability to legally drive
  • Ability to walk around various construction sites
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to speak in public such as training or presenting to group


Preferred Qualifications



  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)
  • Certified Value Specialist (CSV)
