The Global Basketball MBA Internship is a 90 day immersive experience designed to provide a unique inside view of the global basketball business at adidas. This role offers direct exposure to the strategic, operational, and creative decisions that shape one of the most influential categories in sport and culture.

As an intern, you will shadow the Global General Manager and gain hands on insight into how cross functional teams collaborate across product creation, athlete partnerships, brand marketing, merchandising, and marketplace strategy. While the role is intentionally broad rather than deeply specialized, it offers meaningful opportunities to contribute to strategic projects, support executive decision making, and develop a holistic understanding of how adidas Basketball operates globally.

Key Responsibilities

* Executive Shadowing and Business Exposure: Shadow the Global General Manager on a daily basis by attending internal meetings and reviews across marketing, sports marketing, product creation, design, development, and merchandising functions.

* Cross Functional Learning and Synthesis: Engage with multiple teams across the business to understand their roles, priorities, and interdependencies. Synthesize key insights and observations into concise updates for leadership discussions.

* Strategic Project Ownership: Lead two to three structured summer projects focused on areas of the basketball business such as athlete strategy, product pipeline development, marketplace dynamics, or brand storytelling. Deliver clear recommendations and actionable insights.

* GM Level Analysis and Decision Support: Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support strategic decisions including competitive benchmarking, market trend analysis, business performance reviews, and scenario modeling.

* Business Review Preparation and Storytelling: Assist in preparing presentations and materials for internal leadership meetings and business reviews by translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives.

* Special Projects and Real Time Support: Contribute to ad hoc projects and time sensitive initiatives that provide exposure to real world decision making in a fast paced sports and culture environment.

Required Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in a two year MBA program and seeking a summer internship between the first and second year of study.

* Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capabilities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.

* Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across multiple organizational levels.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

* Strong consumer and marketplace curiosity with the ability to translate insights into strategic perspectives.

* Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative, cross functional environment.

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20 percent of the time if required.

Preferred Experience

* Prior experience in strategy, consulting, brand management, product management, or business analytics.

* Demonstrated interest in the sports industry, particularly basketball and its intersection with culture and lifestyle.

* Experience working in cross functional teams within dynamic or fast paced organizations.

Work Environment

Hybrid work model requiring in office attendance Monday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Fridays based on business needs.

Primary work location is Los Angeles, California.

Working language is English.

This internship runs for approximately 90 days during the summer and operates in a highly collaborative, fast paced business environment.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to leadership within the Global Basketball business unit.

The intern will work closely with the Global General Manager while collaborating with cross functional partners across product, marketing, sports marketing, merchandising, finance, planning, and global market teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $45 to $47 per hour.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and demonstrated proficiency in the role.

This internship provides direct exposure to senior leadership, hands on strategic project work, and opportunities to develop a broad understanding of the global basketball business within adidas.
