Our Sterile Processing Department plays a vital role in supporting surgical and procedural teams by ensuring instrumentation, equipment, and supplies are processed with precision, efficiency, and the highest safety standards. As a Sterile Processing Supervisor, you will provide operational leadership for one of the most critical departments within the health system. This role is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented leader who is passionate about quality, process improvement, staff development, and supporting exceptional surgical outcomes in a fast-paced academic medical environment. Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department for the University of Virginia Health System, including staffing coordination, workflow management, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance. Provide leadership and direction for the development and implementation of sterilization, high-level disinfection, and decontamination policies, procedures, and best practices. This role is responsible for ensuring instrumentation, supplies, and critical surgical resources are processed accurately and available in a timely manner to support surgical services and other clinical departments throughout the health system. One of the following certifications is required:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $26.23 hourly.
