Overview Bronx/Westchester Electric is seeking a qualified Clerical Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to Electric Operations. Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Success in this role requires a candidate with strong work ethics, confidence, passion, and adaptability.
- Candidate must have strong clerical and organization skills, with proficiency in computer applications and typing.
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Candidate should demonstrate the ability to prioritize daily work and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Responsibilities include communicating with and dispatching field crews; reviewing and filing documents; compiling tracking reports; preparing daily work folders; assisting field personnel with permits and contact information; creating and receipting Oracle requisitions; and performing general office support for electric operations.
- Candidate must be willing to work overtime, including occasional weekends or overnight shifts, as required for storm response.
- This position is currently hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote; standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The on-site requirement may change based on business needs.
- Candidate must be available to report in person during Incident Command System (ICS) activations and travel to company locations as needed to support restoration efforts, including morning or night shifts.

Relevant Work Experience
- Strong clerical and organizational skills, including proficiency with computer applications, Windows file management, and Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word), required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with managers, planners, supervisors, and field crews, required.
- Working knowledge of Web Workspace (NMS), preferred.
- Previous experience in the utility industry, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
