Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Scrum Master for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Irving, TX. This is a 18+ month contract opportunity. In this role, you will consult on and participate in moderately complex initiatives within an Agile framework, contributing to large-scale planning and resolving challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, the ability to drive outcomes, influence without authority, and proactively escalate risks and impediments. This role requires an individual who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and can engage the right stakeholders to protect delivery commitments. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the scrum process on scrum teams with cross-functional impact that involve moderately complex software development, non-software development or support enablement work
- Guide the scrum team(s) and organization to follow Agile and Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
- Use empirical data to help the team(s) assess their Scrum Maturity, optimize scrum team velocity to organizational KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
- Proactively address systemic impediments to team agility and guide the team(s) on methods to escalate when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers
- Actively drive resolution of team impediments, cross-team dependencies, and delivery risks by influencing stakeholders through clear, fact-based communication
- Identify, assess, and escalate risks early within the sprint or planning horizon, ensuring leadership has timely visibility
- Coach scrum team(s) to deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes
- Partner with Product Owner(s) and Product team to ensure continuous refinement of the backlog
- Drive Scrum adoption across all levels in the organization
Requirements:
- 6+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Scaled Agile methodologies or Large-Scale Scrum Framework (LeSS) experience
- Must understand SDLC best practices
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with both Scrum and Kanban methodologies
- Must be a driven individual with a coaching stance that brings influence
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive outcomes, influence without authority, and proactively escalate risks
Desired skills:
- Scrum Master certification or other advanced Agile certification
- Knowledge and understanding of Agile operational metrics such as Velocity, Predictability, and Sprint burn-downs
- 5+ years of experience in Kanban
- Experience moving teams and organizations from Waterfall to Agile methodologies and Agile Transformations
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
