A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIELD SPECIALIST

As a Field Specialist, you are part of a two-person crew that travels to different job sites to make precise survey measurements. Alongside your partner, you set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment such as total stations, data collectors, levels, and GPS devices. Meticulously, you accurately define and stake right-of-way locations as well as make land measurements and conduct other survey responsibilities.

You diligently record all your data by handwriting information in your field notebook, and you share your findings with the Party Chief and other staff. As needed, you collaborate with your coworkers and supervisors to perform other duties in order to meet goals. You take pride in assisting our team with completing our clients' civil engineering projects!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIELD SPECIALIST



  • 1+ years of land survey experience
  • Ability to learn and proficiently use a robotic total station, a data collector, and GPS equipment
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the job, including moving up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and mud
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record



WORK SCHEDULE FOR A FIELD SPECIALIST

This land survey position typically works Monday - Friday 7 AM - 4 PM and requires frequent regional travel and occasional national travel.
