Job Overview

The Director of Security and Public Safety is responsible for establishing the short- and long-term goals and objectives for security and public safety for the entire organization. This position reports directly to the SVP, Chief Clinical Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic plan, annual goals, and performance metrics; develops and implements plans for aligning functions to operational vision and strategy. Develops annual work plans focused on the coordination, evaluation, and delivery of services provided to patients and families.
  • Participates in leadership activities, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates functional performance. Collaborates with organizational leaders to develop strategic and operational initiatives that support patients and families.
  • Reviews and approves changes to internal processes; identifies and implements process improvements. Reviews and approves customer service standards established by leaders; handles operational and customer service escalations for volunteer services. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support operational objectives.
  • Manages communications to the organization on strategy, projects and hot topics related to volunteer programs and services. Maintains effective working relationships with peers in division, peers in other divisions, and senior leadership.
  • Assigns and reviews annual goals for leaders and team members; provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops leaders and team members. Evaluates performance of leaders and team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires leaders. Reviews and approves resource plans for functions.
  • Carries financial management responsibility, developing budget recommendations and monitoring budget.
  • Works on highly complex or controversial projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
  • Ensures compliance against federal, state, and local regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master's Degree in related field is required.

  • Experience: Five (5) - Seven (7) years leading emergency management functions specific to health care or governmental operations.

  • Equivalency: In lieu of a master's degree, one year of professional experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $134,579.79 to $224,299.64
