Job Description




As a Security Guard - Unarmed Vehicle Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a residential community, you will conduct routine patrols and vehicle rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, where clear communication and customer service matter as you document observations, assist residents and staff, and support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Monitor for unauthorized entry, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Control access where assigned by observing entrances and exits, verifying visitor authorization when required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports of patrol findings, incidents, and/or service requests, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
