Position Summary:
The Packaging Associate supports the Packaging Graphics team by managing packaging graphics prepress and 3D product imaging projects for a designated group of brands. This role partners closely with Marketing, Product Development, Regulatory, Operations, and external prepress vendors to gather project requirements, prepare work orders, manage timelines, and ensure accurate delivery of packaging artwork and 3D renderings. The Graphics Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, proofing incoming files, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring high quality execution across all assigned projects. Additional responsibilities include managing, approving, and mailing Color Proofs/GMGs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Gather and organize information required to place orders with prepress vendors for packaging art development
  • Request product samples and organize the information required to place orders with prepress vendors for 3D product image renderings
  • Prepare detailed prepress work orders, including Project Briefs, Nutritional Regulatory Sheets, and pickup art
  • Order, review, and distribute Color Proofs/GMG for content, color accuracy, design elements and consistency
  • Manage project timelines and maintain the work order queue
  • Proof incoming artwork and 3D renderings against work order requirements to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Track, file, and maintain mechanical production art and 3D product renderings
  • Audit and record vendor invoices

Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's level degree required. A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates competency may be substituted.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and team interaction skills required for effective cross functional collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented project management skills with strong follow through to meet deadlines
  • Interest in learning commercial printing processes, including:
  • Line vs. process printing
  • Trapping
  • Color matching
  • Pantone matching system (PMS)
  • Registration
  • Separation
  • Die lines
  • On-site press approvals for first print runs of packaging
