Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Location: Tulsa, OK

Position Responsibilities:

  • Re-certifications must be obtained and maintained in accordance with NAS-410 and Spirit's internal procedures.
  • Assist in training as applicable to job roles.
  • Must be willing to cross-train and qualify as Level II in multiple non-destructive inspection disciplines.
  • Must be willing to participate and perform work instructions during an audit.
  • Use and interpret drawings, inspection procedures, mathematics, precision measuring instruments, specialized inspection machines, imaging software and any equipment necessary to accomplish work assignments.
  • Experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures and Specifications.
  • Overall working knowledge of production manufacturing processes.
  • Good communication, written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to utilize various stationery and/or portable handheld inspection equipment.
  • Verify that tools and equipment are calibrated and qualified.
  • Evaluate inspection results from data (manual or computer generated) to determine if component meets the governing customer specification(s).
  • Follow Inspection (shop) procedures to accept or reject processes/parts/assemblies.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality records.
  • Conduct daily operations and present yourself in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must meet the Level II training and experience requirements of NAS-410.
  • 40 documented classroom hours with previous Level 1 Certification.
  • 80 documented classroom hours without previous Level 1 Certification.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency, in Ultrasonic inspection.
  • Must be able to pass a near vision Jaeger No. 1 eye exam at no less than 12 inches.
  • Must be able to pass an Ishihara Color Perception exam.
  • Applicants with training and experience in the following NDT methods will be highly considered: Radiography, Eddy Current and Penetrant testing.
  • 800 documented experience hours (On Job Training).
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • Must have at least basic computer skills
  • Candidates may be required to perform a practical evaluation using Sonatest or Olympus EPOCH 650.
  • Must be able to lift, move and locate parts weighing up to but not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (www.workkeys.com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.
