MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Service Field or Education
2. Valid driver's license.
3. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Four (4) years' experience in mental health programs
2. Two (2) years supervisory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Master's degree (MA/MS) in a mental health related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Two (2) years of substance abuse experience.
2. Four (4) years of experience in community mental health programs.
3. Two (2) years of supervision of a Residential program serving individuals with disabilities.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Advises on hiring, retention, interviewing and recruitment of staff.
2. Maintains appropriate personnel records.
3. Assists with the development and implementation of on-going educational programs for professional and support staff which can include new employee orientation, in-service continuing education, and new equipment and/or systems training which enables the staff to perform on the basis of current policy/procedures and state of the art practices.
4. Provides ongoing feedback to employees concerning job performance through goal development, peer evaluation, and performance evaluations.
5. Monitors on a continual basis all personnel and current expense budgets providing information and/or justification of variances.
6. Makes recommendation for preparation of the budget for cost center annually to assure cost effective operations.
7. Assures the most economical utilization of time, materials and resources through the review of workflow and staffing patterns in order to achieve optimal productivity and to provide cost effective staffing patterns to ensure appropriate utilization of staff and skill mix to provide patient care.
8. Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other personnel in problem identification and resolution in a timely manner.
9. Promotes customer satisfaction through response to customer perceptions of services provided in a professional and constructive manner. Ensures the establishment and implementation of the unit culture that is responsive to patients and families.
10. Serves as a resource to appropriate QI teams.
11. Participates in various activities to assist in the dissemination of necessary information to staff, physicians, and others by written and/or verbal means.
12. Monitors current expense and human resource funds for cost center cost effectively.
13. Maintains effective communication with medical staff, patients, staff, and other departments as necessary to assure identification of problems and provide problem solution in support of the organizations mission of quality patient care and delivery.
14. Assesses patient/family satisfaction issues through daily rounds and take appropriate action to resolve.
15. Assures the adherence of all standards and policies as set forth by WVUHS and the accrediting bodies for the purpose of licensure, regulation and accreditation. Including but not limited to Kepro, BMS, and OHFLAC.
16. Facilitates the professional development of personnel. Oversees and participates in the orientation, training and continuing education of the staff and other related personnel.
17. Participates in outreach activities in the community in order to educate and/or promote good relationships.

1. 2. Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
