Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Position Overview

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - EEE Parts Specialist serves as the primary technical interface between Strategic Programs, external customers, and the supply chain for Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) parts. This specialized role combines supplier quality engineering expertise with deep knowledge of aerospace EEE parts requirements, guiding customers and internal programs through development phases from concept through qualification and production.

This position is critical to ensuring that EEE parts meet rigorous space flight and defense requirements while supporting customer success in navigating complex procurement, screening, qualification, and traceability requirements. The role requires exceptional technical communication skills to translate complex aerospace standards into actionable guidance for customers and suppliers alike.

  • An strong electrical engineering background is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Technical Guidance & Program Support (35%)

  • Serve as the primary EEE parts technical advisor to Strategic Program customers, guiding them through development phases including Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Qualification Reviews
  • Interpret and communicate complex military and NASA specifications (MIL-PRF, MIL-STD,) in accessible terms for customer engineering teams
  • Support proposal activities by providing EEE parts technical input, risk assessments, and cost/schedule impacts for various quality grade levels
  • Participate in program reviews and provide status on EEE parts qualification, screening, and supplier readiness
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing guidance documents, training materials, and technical bulletins

EEE Parts Qualification (25%)

  • Oversee piece-part qualification testing including screening, Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA), and Quality Conformance Inspection (QCI)
  • Review Source Control Drawings (SoCDs)
  • Maintain currency with evolving specifications, industry alerts, and lessons learned affecting EEE parts

Supplier Quality Management (25%)

  • Evaluate vendor capability to support EEE parts procurement for space and defense applications
  • Conduct or coordinate supplier audits for non-QPL/QML manufacturers to ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Manage supplier corrective actions related to EEE parts quality escapes
  • Monitor supplier performance including on-time delivery, incoming yield, and quality metrics
  • Evaluate and approve procurement sources, ensuring parts are obtained from Original Component Manufacturers (OCMs) or authorized/franchised distributors only
  • Implement counterfeit parts avoidance measures and support suspect part investigations
  • Coordinate with suppliers on screening, lot qualification, and traceability documentation requirements

Documentation & Data Management (10%)

  • Maintain traceability records including lot date codes, manufacturer identification, and serial numbers as required by program grade level
  • Process and track GIDEP alerts and problem advisories; assess impact on program hardware and coordinate corrective actions
  • Support development and maintenance of EEE Parts Management Plans for assigned programs
  • Generate metrics and reports on EEE parts qualification status, supplier performance, and program compliance

Continuous Improvement & Process Development (5%)

  • Identify opportunities to improve EEE parts selection, procurement, and qualification processes
  • Contribute to lessons learned documentation and incorporation into program practices
  • Support internal training on EEE parts requirements for program teams, quality engineers, and procurement personnel
  • Contribute to updates of organizational procedures and best practices for EEE parts managem
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Target salary range: USD $105,814.00/Yr. - USD $117,387.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
