How You'll Contribute:


The Senior ESS Installation Superintendent plays a critical role in delivering highquality technology installations for our clients. This position serves as a key field representative throughout the lifecycle of each project, supporting our sales and delivery strategy by acting as a central point of coordination across multiple disciplines. As the primary leader for onsite execution, the Superintendent directly influences the quality and success of the work performed within client facilities.


To excel in this role, the Superintendent collaborates closely with project management, field superintendents, and crossfunctional teams to fully understand project requirements and their role within each deployment. They translate design drawings into completed, highperforming systems through handson responsibilities that include rack and enclosure builds, panel terminations, device installation, system testing, and troubleshooting.


As a senior field leader, the Superintendent is entrusted with our most complex system implementations. They provide mentorship to technicians, set the standard for workmanship and professionalism, and consistently demonstrate best practices across all aspects of the job.



What You'll Do:



  • Serves as the primary onsite point of contact, ensuring clear and consistent communication with the client.
  • Coordinates tracking of hours for subcontractors and internal team members.
  • Supports and guides multiple installation superintendents on large projects.
  • Works collaboratively on longduration, large, and complex projects involving multiple ESS subsystems or divisions.
  • Reviews the BOM at the start of each project and works with the team to confirm required materials.
  • Communicates material needs or adjustments with the Project Manager and Design Engineering team.
  • Works with project partners to maintain project progress within the expected timeline.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Supervisor, Project Manager, and Program Manager to address schedule challenges and share context.
  • Partners with technicians and lead technicians to support project schedules and team performance.
  • Works with the team to maintain project timelines and uphold DIV28 quality standards.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Regional Supervisor and documents:




    • Weekly milestones
    • Work completed with technicians and trades (subcontractors, GC, EC)
    • Project issues
    • Problemsolving discussions
    • Site Readiness information
    • Updated site inventory
    • Redlines and RFIs




  • Communicate promptly when additional support or technical guidance is needed.
  • Identifies potential issues in drawings or matrices and collaborates with the Project Manager or Design Engineer to resolve them quickly.
  • Helps coordinate activities across multiple sites and supports team members in prioritizing tasks.
  • Maintains consistent communication with staff and subcontractors on all job sites.
  • Works with technicians, lead technicians, and subcontractors to ensure tasks are assigned and supported effectively across locations.
  • Maintains shared inventory records in OneNote for team visibility and access.
  • Communicates equipment issues with the Regional Supervisor or Project Manager to support timely replacement and project continuity.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment that encourages knowledgesharing and continuous skill development.



Complexity:



  • Serves as the primary coordination point for the Project Manager, ensuring clear communication and alignment among all field staff, including technicians, union technicians, leads, superintendents, and field engineers.
  • Works collaboratively on client job sites, partnering with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to complete tasks and maintain smooth project operations.
  • Functions as the senior field resource on many projects, supporting teams by facilitating task distribution, monitoring progress, and ensuring aligned communication with key stakeholders on behalf of the Project Manager.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to guide teams, resolve issues collaboratively, and maintain a positive, solution-driven work environment.



Decision Making Authority:



  • Supports onsite safety efforts by coordinating safety tracking and facilitating toolbox talks.
  • Serves as a collaborative point of escalation for Installation Superintendents on assigned projects, helping address issues and align decisions with project goals.
  • Works with project partners to track hours for subcontractors and internal team members to maintain accurate reporting and project transparency.
  • Make informed onsite decisions in coordination with the Project Manager and Site Supervisor, who remain available for consultation. While often serving as the senior onsite representative, this role emphasizes sound judgment, clear communication, and strong collaboration with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders to support project progress and maintain positive working relationships.



Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here represent the typical requirements of this role. Team members may regularly work in active construction environments and are expected to follow all safety regulations established by the general contractor, including the use of appropriate PPE. The role generally involves spending at least 50% of the time on foot and moving throughout the construction site.


Team members may occasionally climb ladders, use stairs, and lift or move materials up to 40 pounds. Regular use of keyboards, testing equipment, and system installation tools is required. The position also involves tasks requiring close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision. When not on construction sites, team members work in standard office conditions and use typical office equipment such as computers and related peripherals.



Travel:


This role involves frequent travel by car and occasional air travel as part of project coordination and onsite support. Team members are expected to maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence. Personal vehicles may be used for local travel, with mileage reimbursed at the current corporate rate.


Most travel will be local to job sites within approximately a two hour driving distance each way, typically representing 70-90% of travel needs. At times, remote travel may account for up to 30% of the role. Regular remote travel averages around 10%, depending on project requirements.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates/bachelor's degree preferred
  • Lenel Certification, preferred



Required Skills/Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of related experience, including the administrative capabilities needed to support day-to-day project requirements.
  • Knowledge of commonly used project tools and documents, including Teams, Outlook, OneNote, BlueBeam/Adobe Reader, project drawings, programming matrices, SRDs, UILs, JHAs, THAs, RHAs, RFIs, and redlines.
  • Ability to review and interpret matrices, drawings, BOM lists, and SRDs to support accurate and coordinated project execution.
  • Ability to work with access control and CCTV systems, including installation, device setup, panel wiring, and collaborative troubleshooting during the installation process.
  • Ability to support project schedules and adhere to DIV28 quality specifications in coordination with project teams.
  • Experience with industry standard systems such as Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, and DMP.
  • Knowledge of mechanical retrofitting for door frames and gates to support electric locking hardware and related devices.
  • Understanding of network interface access for connecting devices such as access controllers, IP cameras, intercoms, and switches.
  • Experience with PC administrative adjustments used for connecting to and configuring IP cameras, including camera aiming and adjustment.
  • A clean driving record and the ability to operate a vehicle for project travel needs.
  • The ability to meet requirements for security clearances or jurisdictional registrations (e.g., DCJS, TS Clearance).
  • An active passport-or the ability to obtain one-to support travel needs.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with tasks involving standing, sitting, ladder use, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
