Job Title: Admissions Coordinator and Enrollment Specialist
Location: Franklin, VA 23851
Pay Rate: $15.00/hr. without benefits
Duration: 6+ months
Work Hours: Monday and Wednesday: 9 am to 5 pm; Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30 am to 5 pm
Job Description:
Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s):
- Computer, Scanner, Copier, Printer, etc.
Computer software to be used:
- MS Office, Student Information System, etc.
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience:
- Working knowledge of admissions, enrollment, and student records processes in a higher education environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and maintaining student data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience using Student Information Systems (SIS) and related databases, or the ability to learn quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, college staff, and community partners.
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience providing administrative, office, or enrollment-related support.
- Demonstrated customer service experience in an office or educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability in creating graphics and other program media.
- Ability to serve program staff across multiple locations.
Required Certification:
- Experience working in higher education or K-12 education
- Familiarity with VCCS policies, procedures, and student information systems.

Role & Responsibilities:
Administrative and Program Support:
- Assist with day-to-day office coverage and front desk support.
- Support the TRiO Director with administrative tasks, reports, forms, procurement process, and program tracking.
- Assist in preparing and updating enrollment reports, student lists, and other program-related documentation.
- Create and maintain electronic and paper files in accordance with college and grant records retention policies.
- Support program-related meetings, events, and outreach activities as needed.
Communication and Outreach:
- Provide clear, professional communication via email, phone, and written correspondence, as assigned.
- Support data cleanup projects (duplicate records, missing entries).
- Assist with student outreach campaigns using approved scripts/templates
- Update Canvas, newsletters, or shared calendars with TRIO events and deadlines
- Track responses and follow up with students, as assigned.
Customer Service and Student Support:
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and college staff.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding TRiO program services.
- Direct students to appropriate TRiO staff and other college departments.
- Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and problem-solving skills when addressing questions or concerns.
- Ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders involved in the TRiO program.
Data & Records Support:
- Enter attendance and participation data into spreadsheets or tracking systems.
- Update student contact information and service logs.
- Assist with organizing documentation for reports or audits.
- Support data cleanup projects (duplicate records, missing entries).
