Job Description:
- This position is responsible for the management of financial activities and accounting functions for Asset Management and Management Services, supervises accounting staff; assists with annual budget preparation; assist in the annual financial audit; develops and distributes internal financial reports. The position reports to the Controller.
Role and Responsibilities:

- Manage and supervise daily operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, utilities, Asset Management Senior Accountant, Management Services Staff Accountant.
- Plan, direct and coordinate work plan; assign projects, programs and activities; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; identify and resolve problems.
- Produce and manage the process of creating and monitoring highly accurate Weekly Cash Reports and cash flow projections and usage reports.
- Manage staff daily workload, coordinate and review staff work.
- Participate in the development of, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures.
- Monitor the preparation and filing of Annual Subsidy submission, PHAS scoring and year end 1099 submission.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget document, including compiling approved departmental expenditure budgets, revenue estimates and various narratives into the annual budget document.
- Responsible for budget input and monitor revenue and expenditure transactions.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, HUD.
- Participate in management team activities, i.e. training, meeting etc.
- Provide support and assistance to the Controller in the departmental administrative functions.
- Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Provide staff training and perform annual staff evaluations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
- Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in accounting.
- Seven (7-10) years of experience in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Five (5) years' experience in a management/supervisory position.
- Experience with governmental/non-profit accounting principles and procedures.
