Job Overview:

We are excited to offer a 12-week remote paid AIML Rapid Development Studio (RDS) Internship opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience within our Global Project Delivery Department. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced AIML RDS team to support various client engagement projects and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.

This internship in particular will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions. The intern will work closely with our team of AI/ML experts to contribute to various stages of the innovation process, from research and ideation to prototyping and deployment. This internship will provide hands-on experience in applying AI/ML technologies to real-world challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of the field and enhancing the intern's technical and problem-solving skills.

Internship Assignment Summary:

  • Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing datasets required for machine learning projects. This includes data preprocessing, feature extraction, and ensuring data quality.

  • Model Development: Participate in the design and development of machine learning models. This includes experimenting with different algorithms, tuning hyperparameters, and optimizing models for performance and accuracy.

  • Prototyping and Experimentation: Collaborate with team members to create prototypes of AI/ML solutions. Test and validate models through rigorous experimentation, and document findings to guide further development.

  • Research and Literature Review: Conduct research on the latest AI/ML trends, tools, and methodologies. Summarize key findings and propose how they can be applied to ongoing projects within the studio.

  • Tool and Framework Exploration: Explore and evaluate new AI/ML tools, frameworks, and technologies. Provide recommendations on their potential integration into the studio's workflow.

  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and product designers, to support the successful implementation of AI/ML initiatives.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of all project-related activities, including data pipelines, model configurations, and experimental results. Present findings and progress to the team in regular updates.

  • Continuous Learning and Development: Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to expand knowledge in AI/ML. Attend workshops, webinars, and team discussions to stay updated on the latest industry advancements.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (Graduate level).

  • Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning algorithms and data structures.

  • Experience with programming languages commonly used in AI/ML, such as Python, R, or Java.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

  • Basic understanding of data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.

  • Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and tools for AI/ML deployment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in AI/ML research and development.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with good communication skills.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

  • Previous project or internship experience in AI/ML is a plus but not required

Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
