*Description*
Our client is adding experienced Building Automation technicians to support multisite data center projects in the greater Charlotte area. You will perform handson installation, pointtopoint checkout (including 5point analog tests), and field functional testing to validate sequences of operations and equipment performance. Daily work includes plugging into control panels with a laptop, operating through BAS graphics, documenting results, and assisting thirdparty commissioning agents during witnessed tests. You'll coordinate with electrical and mechanical contractors, follow drawings and sequences, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues to keep milestones on track. Candidates should bring 3-5+ years of BAS/HVAC controls experience, the ability to read MEP drawings and control schematics, strong documentation habits, and a safetyfirst mindset (OSHA10/30 preferred). This role is fully onsite across four Charlottearea sites (generally 30-45 minutes from Uptown), with a physically active, constructionsite environment. The schedule is frequently 6O10s with sustained overtime during peak phases, and the overall program spans multiple years with phased starts. Calibration Experience - operating tools such as manometers, temperature/RH calibrators, and signal generators for device verification. Controls Software Familiarity - experience with Niagara N4 interfaces, graphics navigation, and fieldlevel logic understanding. Documentation Accuracy - strong ability to maintain P2P checklists, test sheets, commissioning binders, and configuration backups. Trade Coordination - ability to interface professionally with electricians, mechanical contractors, and GCs on active construction sites. Sequence of Operations Interpretation - understanding how mechanical systems should respond and verifying proper behavior in the field. Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude - diagnosing wiring issues, device failures, and installation errors logically and safely. Adaptability in Phased Construction - traveling between building sections as needed and supporting different stages of installation/commissioning. OSHA10 or OSHA30 training (strongly preferred due to GC requirements). Reliable transportation to commute daily to multiple Charlottearea sites. Physical capability to walk large sites, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces. Strong communication skills for working with commissioning agents and leadership. Professionalism and dependability, with consistent attendance in a fastpaced environment. Ability to work 6O10s (60hour weeks) during peak phases of construction. Stable work history with demonstrated commitment (long tenure favored).
