The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is looking for a creative, guest-oriented General Clean and Preventive Maintenance professional to join its lively team! The hotel has over 250 rooms and nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. Position Summary: The Deep Clean Preventive Maintenance position is a combined role responsible for both deep cleaning and preventive maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and function spaces. This role ensures that every room and space not only meets our high standards of cleanliness but is also proactively maintained to prevent issues before they arise, supporting a consistently excellent guest experience. Essential Job Functions:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms (CARE, RPM, GCPM), meeting rooms, and/or public spaces as required.
- Inspect and service mattresses, box springs, and bed frames; flip/rotate mattresses as needed.
- Vacuum behind and underneath furniture; dust and clean all surfaces.
- Spot clean carpets, upholstery, and other soft furnishings.
- Complete touch-up painting of walls, surfaces, and furniture.
- Ensure all room hardware, fixtures, and appliances are present and in proper working condition.
- Replace light fixtures, bulbs, and other small electrical components as needed.
- Inspect and repair grout, caulking, and other finishes in guest bathrooms and public spaces.
- Conduct minor repairs, such as tightening toilet seats, patching wall holes, and similar tasks.
- Perform deep cleaning of guestrooms in accordance with Marriott's Power of Clean Standards, including tubs, wall tile, hard floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.
- Maintain, repair, and clean guestrooms following property-specific preventative maintenance procedures and guidelines.
- Report serious maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to a manager/supervisor.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping and Engineering teams to ensure a consistently high-quality room product.
- Maintain a clean, organized work cart and follow all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness protocols.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to cleanliness, maintenance excellence, and guest satisfaction.
Physical Demands:
- Lift, push, pull, rotate 50 lbs or more
- Manual dexterity to operate and grasp tools
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Standing and walking up to a full 8 hours a day.
Qualifications:
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Fluent spoken English.
- Trade school training or General Maintenance/Technician certification preferred.
- Previous hotel or facilities maintenance/housekeeping experience a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
