Please Note: This requisition will fill Fire & Security Supervisor positions in the Metro-Detroit, MI area at the following manufacturing sites: Detroit Assembly Complex and Sterling Heights Assembly Plant.

The Fire & Security Supervisor is responsible for safeguarding company assets and ensuring a secure, safe working environment at their assigned manufacturing facility. This role includes overseeing site fire protection and security operations, supporting crisis management activities, and performing risk assessments that help prevent financial loss, theft, and fraud. The Fire & Security Supervisor reports directly to the Fire & Security Lead and will primarily work the afternoon shift, serving as an extension of the Lead and enhancing the local security culture across all shifts. However, they should be flexible with their scheduling to ensure customer satisfaction. They can expect to work the occasional weekend or holiday. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, attention to detail, and clear communication skills while maintaining a customerfocused approach. The position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.

What you'll do:



  • Oversee all fire protection and security operations within assigned areas.
  • Supervise inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems and security equipment in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and uphold corporate security programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Supervise contracted security personnel and ensure performance meets expectations.
  • Ensure all fire and security activities follow legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Allocate staff and resources to meet operational needs and project timelines.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the facility's leadership, management personnel, and unionrepresented employees to ensure fire protection and security services consistently meet operational and customer needs.
  • Support crisis response, conduct incident investigations, maintain documentation, and coordinate with local authorities as needed.
  • Assist in budget planning and management for general administrative expenses.
  • Help achieve cost efficiency and performance targets.
  • Create and maintain security procedures, onepoint lessons, and visual SOPs.
  • Deliver corporate fire and security training at the site level.
  • Work with Corporate Security Technical Services on enterprise programs.
  • Participate in planning for fire and security infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure fire and security standards are met in construction or renovation projects.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of vendors and facility conditions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Address operational issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while achieving results.
  • Provide support for corporatelevel fire and security initiatives.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare reports for leadership or regulatory agencies.
  • Deliver training and conduct drills (fire, evacuation, etc.) with followup evaluations.

Basic Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate security, physical security, fire protection, law enforcement, military, or related fields with 5 overall years of professional work experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and assessments.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for working across all organizational levels.
  • Technical proficiency with security tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Experience participating in crisis response and emergency situations.
  • Ability to respond to urgent events 24/7.
  • Experience with budgeting or financial forecasting.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience using mobile security or digital incident reporting tools.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree (Criminal Justice, Security Management, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field).
  • Professional certification (CPP, PSP).
  • Security or fire protection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a unionized workplace.
  • Familiarity with specialized fire detection or suppression systems.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, UL, and related safety/security standards.
  • Experience working in diverse and inclusive environments.
