Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Engineer to join our growing team! As the Senior Operations Engineer you will provide 24/7/365 Tier 3 technical support for critical facility infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, efficiency, and costeffective performance. This includes advanced troubleshooting and oversight of AC and DC power systems, UPS and battery plants, generators, ATS/STS systems, grounding, and building infrastructure across core sites.

As a Senior Operations Engineeryour responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Tier 3 technical support to field technicians and management, stabilizing emergency situations and reducing reliance on external vendors
  • Maintaining core site readiness by identifying, documenting, and prioritizing infrastructure deficiencies; escalatingjeopardy conditions to leadership
  • Evaluatingand identifying end of life or at risk critical infrastructure and collaboratingwith planning teams to initiate replacement processes
  • Servingas a subject matter expert on cross functional projects, providing technical guidance and problem solving support
  • Supporting disaster recovery efforts for facilities and critical infrastructure systems
  • Assisting program managers with preventive maintenance scheduling and execution
  • Ensuringbusiness continuity documentation is accurate and up to date for all assigned sites
  • ProvidingPreventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) and technical troubleshooting training to field technicians
  • Managingcapacity planning for critical infrastructure across assigned core locations

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of handson experience with critical infrastructure, electrical systems, and AC/DC power equipment
  • Ability to perform highly complex technical tasks and lead teams, vendors, and contractors on large scale projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical requirements and expectations
  • Positive, solutions oriented approach when working with internal and external partners
  • Solid working knowledge of computing and internet technologies
