NAC Nurse Practitioner, Acute Pain, Full Time

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducts a history and physical examination of all assigned patients.
2. Manages all patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care and protocols established by assigned directors.
3. May order treatments (including rehabilitation services), laboratory studies and x-rays as indicated for patients in the clinic or practice using established protocols. In addition, the Nurse Practitioner will appropriately call in medications within the scope of his/her licensure.
4. Utilize medical staff resources as required.
5. Provide patient with discharge instructions and will check for understanding of instructions.
6. Provide the patient with follow up care when needed through a specialty physician referral or a follow up visit.
7. Collaborate with leadership to assure quality of care and services to our customers.
8. Input and maintain patient information in the computer system or medical chart as appropriate.
9. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment, malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to a member of management.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. Master's Degree in Nursing
