JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: Job Summary The full-time Nursing Faculty supports Northcentral Technical College's Nursing program by facilitating student learning across classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and distance learning environments. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing and maintaining course materials, and contributing to curriculum development, program evaluation, and accreditation activities aligned with regulatory requirements, professional nursing standards, and recognized nurse educator competencies. Working 36 weeks within a 52-week academic year, faculty apply evidence-based teaching practices and collaborate with program colleagues, clinical partners, and workforce stakeholders to prepare graduates for safe, competent nursing practice and support regional healthcare workforce needs. Please note this is an in-person position located on campus in Wausau, Wisconsin. Essential Functions and Responsibilities The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation. Teaching & Student Success:
Facilitate student learning through engaging instructional strategies and methodologies across various modalities, including in-person, online, hybrid, and out-of-classroom activities, and mentoring students and peers. Adhere to NTC's academic calendar, Student Connect hours, teaching assignments, post and maintain office hours, and conduct assigned classes for the scheduled length of time in accordance with the faculty contract. Assess and evaluate student performance by providing timely feedback and grades, maintaining accurate student records, attendance, and lab/clinical evaluations, in compliance with privacy laws, such as FERPA. Develop and maintain course materials including outcome summaries, learning plans, Performance Assessment Tasks (PATs), syllabi, and online Learning Management System templates in the approved College format within designated timelines. Select and utilize appropriate learning materials and resources including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning. Review, revise, and create curriculum in accordance with NTC academic standards and expectations. Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a new or modified course/certificate/program. Stay current and focused on evolving learner needs and educational trends. Provide written evaluations upon the student's request.
Specific Instructional Program Duties
Supervise students in clinical and simulated learning environments to ensure safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and clinical site expectations. Ensure patient safety and adherence to professional scope-of-practice standards while guiding students in safe clinical decision-making. Integrate evidence-based teaching practices, current clinical standards, simulation, and experiential learning strategies to support competency development and preparation for professional nursing practice. Collaborate with healthcare organizations and clinical partners to coordinate student clinical placements, learning expectations, and evaluation processes. Maintain documentation required for clinical placements, program accreditation, regulatory compliance, and clinical partner agreements. Participate in the systematic evaluation of course and program outcomes, including analysis of student performance, licensure outcomes, completion rates, and other program metrics to support continuous program improvement. Assist with development, revision, and implementation of nursing curriculum, courses, and program pathways to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare workforce needs. Participate in advisory committees and collaborate with healthcare organizations, professional organizations, and workforce partners to maintain program relevance. Support nursing program recruitment and workforce pipeline initiatives through participation in outreach activities including open houses, information sessions, and K-12 engagement events promoting healthcare careers. Maintain current clinical competence and knowledge in the nursing profession and scholarship of teaching and learning consistent with recognized professional nurse educator standards. Contribute to accreditation documentation, self-studies, reports, and site visit preparation activities to ensure compliance with programmatic and institutional standards. Provide academic advising and mentorship to support student success, retention, and professional development.
College/Program Area Support:
Maintain program documentation as required by accreditation, program, or clinical sites standards, if applicable. Coordinate with instructional support services to address student accommodation and modification needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment. Engage and participate in faculty development training, professional day activities, College in-service events, commencement, team time, and other designated College activities. Assist in onboarding and orientating new full-time, part-time, adjunct faculty, and other employees within the program or content area. Actively participate in institutional, advisory and program team, and committee meetings. Attend College Open Houses (on-campus and off-campus, set-up and take down) to assist with student recruitment and in support of Student Services activities. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with business and industry partners, community organizations, and K-12 partners to strengthen program connections. Assist, participate, support, and carry out all duties as assigned.
Professional Development:
Maintain Wisconsin Technical College (WTCS)/Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) and Higher Learning Commission qualification and meet requirements, accreditation or licensing standards, as applicable to program areas. Maintain professional certifications, licensures, and credentials as required by the specific program area. Remain up-to-date professionally in the area of content expertise and the teaching profession.

Experience: 5 Years Additional Experience Information:
Minimum of five years of occupational experience as a Registered Nurse, working at the bedside. One year of occupational experience as a Registered Nurse must be within the previous five years unless the candidate has two years of post-secondary teaching experience in nursing within the last five years. Prior teaching experience in post-secondary, clinical education, or workforce training preferred. NTC will determine whether applicants meet the credentialing requirements of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS), the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), applicable accreditation standards, and/or occupational licensing standards. These requirements must be met at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment, where applicable to the position. Current, unencumbered Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
