Quality Control Lab Technician

Huntsman is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician supporting the Division Name Division located in Akron, Ohio. This position will report to the Quality Manager.

Job Scope

Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis. Assist Chemists with data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory levels, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production, while conforming to safe laboratory practices in accordance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations. Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for two production areas, and perform other duties as required.

In summary, as the Quality Control Lab Technician, you will:

  • Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis.
  • Assist Chemists with data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory levels, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production.
  • Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in applied science or 3 years laboratory experience.

Skills and knowledge

  • Basic laboratory knowledge.
  • Basic math skills.
  • PC literacy.
  • Must be a self-starter with a "can-do attitude" that can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a high degree of safety awareness in job approach and willingness to wear proper protective equipment as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends and be subject to last-minute scheduling changes.
  • Must be willing to accept overtime and be available for call-ins if necessary.
