The Surgical Scheduler Gynecologic Oncology ensures the efficient and safe day-to-day operation of the clinic. He/She is responsible for performing administrative support functions, managing the reception desk, and supporting members of the Sibley Physicians Group (SPG). The Surgical Scheduler Gynecologic Oncology ensures the patients have good experience by presenting a competent image and carrying out the department's commitment to excellence in customer service.

Education:



  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year's experience with medical records and accurate typing or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care



  • Initiates direct eye contact; acknowledges and greets patients, families, and visitors; directs all people to the appropriate location and services.
  • Communicates and interacts with patients, families, physicians and other staff in a respectful, empathetic manner which promotes privacy, dignity and good working relationships and outcome oriented patient care.
  • Always assures patient confidentiality.


2. Surgical Scheduling and Management



  • Responsible for coordinating surgical management from initial surgical consultation through post-operative appointments.
  • Responsible for creating Surgical Consultation Paper Charts (Sibley New Visit Charts) at least one day prior to the patient's scheduled visit.
  • Coordinates with patient and outside providers to ensure that all reports are available for the physician to review prior to the patient's visit and that patient brings copies of images to surgical consultation.
  • Coordinates further imaging studies as ordered by provider either at the time of the consultation or thereafter.
  • Schedules imaging on behalf of patient.
  • Coordinates with patient to ensure that providers receive reports in a timely fashion prior to scheduling surgery.

Salary Range: Minimum 22.75/hour - Maximum 37.53/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
