How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Manufacturing Business Process Owner will ensure the digital products & solutions intended to support Air Liquide Advanced Materials (ALAM) production, manufacturing & supply chain processes deliver the expected business value and a continuous improvement plan is defined for their assigned geography. He/She is accountable for the dataflow design, implementation and measure of effectiveness in achieving the desired business benefit as envisioned/supported by ALAM Executive Leadership responsible for Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Country Management & COO (aka Business Owner's) and will align globally through the Global Demand-to-Supply Business Process Owner.

The Manufacturing Business Process Owner will promote manufacturing process excellence culture by identifying, developing and implementing program initiatives focused on manufacturing & supply chain process improvement solutions within the highly integrated platform of SAP S4/HANA, SAP-ME & LIMS. The individual will lead & direct the activities of Manufacturing Execution (ME) Trainers and Process Experts in the Demand-to-Supply space while working cross functionally with other business process owners/experts to ensure a fully integrated, productive and efficient solution across ALAM.

This role is responsible for the improvement of productivity and effectiveness of ALAM's manufacturing digital core solution requiring a sound understanding of the SAP & LIMS as well as various manufacturing processes with the ability to work cross functionally in a matrix organization. This individual will participate in developing the Digital Strategy & Road Map for manufacturing and be the primary catalyst to lead implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (in addition to what is described above)

  • Continuous Improvement of ALAM's SAP Manufacturing Execution (ME) solution to drive process standardization and adoption of industry best practice standards across all ALAM facilities

  • Partner and influence to set strategy for key process and system improvements to better enable ALAM manufacturing & logistics to achieve strategic business goals. Leverage multiple tools and analytic resources to gain insight into areas for improvement and efficiencies.

  • Positions and influences stakeholders to gain buy-in and alignment for proposed changes and modifications. Provides a clear communication strategy and change management for upcoming changes prior to and during the change process.

  • Lead all phases of the manufacturing process improvement project life cycle including: project initiation, project development, project implementation and testing, end-user training, following accepted project management best practices for controlling project costs and deliverables for their assigned geographic region..

  • Conducts internal process benchmarking in partnership with process stakeholders to identify best-in-class solutions as well as areas to enhance performance, efficiency and productivity.

  • Ensure sustainability of all improvements post-implementation by partnering with cross-functional team leaders and process owners to define the optimal performance measurements to track and measure success over time.

  • Identifies opportunities to better align business processes with overall business strategy and evaluates cost/benefit of changes/modifications.

  • Train, coach and mentor select employees in manufacturing process best practices & principles to help drive transformational change and the development of Subject Matter Experts.

Short term deliverables: (in addition to what is described above)

  • Site specific assessments of ME and ERP SCM competencies amongst technicians, supervisors and other plant personnel with gap definition and mitigation plans in the form of training, orientation to develop a diversified knowledge base of key competencies required to interact with SAP and SAP ME

  • Measurement and resolution of underlying drivers for key performance inhibitors such as open production orders, material consumption variances, and other warehouse management practices resulting in reduced performance, including inventory management in alignment with Plant Asset and Cost Controllers, within 1 year

  • Shortlisted areas of improvement from key stakeholders and defined action plans for issue resolution, enhancements with 50% achievement within 1 year

  • Improvement of Chemistry Technology Development manufacturing and supply chain practices for enhanced control over resource utilization within 1 year

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree / Four-year college degree from an accredited institution or demonstrated competency in manufacturing processes and systems applicable to the ALAM manufacturing environment.

  • 10 + years of manufacturing based experience including business process improvement and quality management experience

  • Understanding of efficiency principles such as Lean/Six Sigma; Black belt preferred

  • Experience successfully leveraging business analytics to inform decisions

  • Systematic problem solver focused on implementing solutions to solve root cause problems

  • Comfortable with out of the box thinking and challenging status quo

  • Strong ability to partner across a complex, matrixed organization and influence outcomes at all levels

  • Ability to communicate and deliver presentations with impact

  • Solid computer skills (i.e. SAP, SAP-ME, Google platform, Database programs a plus)

  • Team player who can collaborate to drive better outcomes

  • Ability to set goals and motivate self

  • Strong organizational, team-building, and communication skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex matrixed organization.

  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.
