Description

This is a structured hybrid position which requires working in our Owatonna, MN facility: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Wednesdays and Fridays are home office workdays. Therefore, candidates must reside within reasonable commutable distance to the facility.

As an IT Project Manager, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide exceptional customer experience by planning, executing and delivering IT projects that support business objectives.

At a minimum, you'll need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise or mid-market IT initiatives (ERP, infrastructure, applications).
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with external vendors and consultants.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and application environments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
  • Solid financial and budget management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.



It would be great if you also have:



  • Experience in manufacturing or multi-site environments
  • System implementation or migration experience (e.g., Epicor, Salesforce)
  • Experience supporting M&A integrations or large-scale system conversions.



A typical day may include:



  • Project Planning and Execution. Develop comprehensive project plans; lead full project lifecycle from initiation through closure; ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget; manage dependencies across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Service as the primary point of contact for business and IT stakeholder; facilitate project status meetings and steering committee updates; provide clear, concise project status reporting; translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Coordinate internal IT resources and business subject matter experts; manage third-party vendors, consultants, and system integrators; ensure vendor deliverables meet contractual and quality expectations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; manage scope changes through formal change control processes; escalate risks and issues appropriately with recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Apply project management methodologies (waterfall, agile or hybrid) as appropriate; maintain project documentation including chargers, schedules, RAID logs, and lessons learned; ensure alignment with IT governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes; contribute to the development of IT project management standards and templates; promote best practices in planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
