Performs as across trained multi functionalteam member of the office practice.Ensuresaccurateandtimely chargecapture and billingof office visits and inpatient charges, front officeassistantresponsibilities, precertification,schedulingor other administrative functions as assigned. Responsible for collecting physicianand technical superbills/rounding sheets daily. Enters andverifies patient demographics and insurance information.Verifies medical benefits andobtains preauthorization.Cross trained in the billing process cycle to include charge capture, insurance,collectionsand payment processing including outsourced receivables.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1. High school diploma, equivalent education (GED), or post-secondary education.
2. Two (2)yearsofexperiencein a clerical environment, preferably in a healthcare environment.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1. Experience in a medical office setting.
2. Ability to read and understandmedicalrecordchart.
3. Basic typing skills
4. Knowledge of current ICD-9 and CPT codes
5. Ability to manage time of self and others.
6. Basic math skills
