JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State's School of Graduate and Professional Studies is seeking a parttime Instructional Design Assistant to support the development of online courses.

Job Duties
  • Assist with creating and updating online course materials.
  • Support faculty and instructional designers with organizing content and applying basic instructional design principles.
  • Help integrate educational technologies and multimedia elements.
  • Ensure course materials meet accessibility and quality standards.
  • Use project management tools to track tasks and follow established workflows.
  • Provide basic support for course setup and troubleshooting in Canvas.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS (training available).
  • Strong communication, organization, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Interest in instructional design and educational technology.
  • Experience with tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Creative Suite is helpful but not required.
  • Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a plus.
