Our client is looking to bring on a Data Manager/Architect - this role will be 50/50 management and hands on.
Ideally looking for candidates in the DFW area, but will be primarily remote. *Top required skills:* 1.) 10+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics platform leadership, or related areas. 2.) Proven experience as a Data Architect designing and implementing enterprise data and analytics platforms. 3.) Strong experience with Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouse, warehouse, pipelines, and analytics capabilities. 4.) Hands-on experience with Power BI, including semantic models, governance, dashboards, and reporting architecture. 5.) String experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms. *Description* The Senior Manager - Data & Analytics Platform / Data Architect is responsible for leading the design, stabilization, governance, and evolution of the enterprise data and analytics ecosystem. This role combines people leadership and delivery ownership with deep hands-on data architecture responsibilities to ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned to business needs. The role will define architecture standards and guide implementation across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Power BI, and enterprise integration tools to enable trusted data for reporting, analytics, operational decision-making, and future AI use cases. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* * Serve as the enterprise Data Architect for the Data & Analytics platform and own end-to-end data architecture across ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic, and consumption layers. * Define and enforce architecture standards, design principles, reusable patterns, and best practices across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Power BI, and integration platforms. * Design scalable lakehouse and warehouse architecture, including medallion patterns across bronze, silver, and gold data layers. * Establish data modeling standards across conceptual, logical, physical, dimensional, and semantic models. * Lead architecture reviews, solution design sessions, and technical governance forums to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability. * Lead the Data & Analytics platform function, including roadmap, priorities, execution, and delivery quality. * Oversee development of data pipelines, orchestration, transformations, curated datasets, semantic layers, dashboards, and reporting models. * Architect and improve enterprise data integration patterns including batch, near real-time, and event-driven data flows. * Improve reliability of integration and data movement platforms through stronger design, observability, monitoring, alerting, and failure handling. * Establish end-to-end data quality, validation, lineage, cataloging, and governance practices. * Define data contracts, service levels, access controls, and stewardship responsibilities across domains. * Partner with application and product teams to improve data quality at source and align platform design with ERP, CRM, field, and other enterprise systems. * Architect and enable semantic models, data marts, and governed self-service reporting capabilities using Power BI. * Support enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, and AI readiness by ensuring trusted, accessible, and well-governed data assets. * Lead and mentor data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI developers; provide hands-on technical guidance and architectural direction. * Collaborate across Technology, Global Shared Services, business teams, and other stakeholders to align priorities, sequencing, and outcomes. * Balance immediate stabilization needs with long-term target-state architecture and platform modernization. *Education and/or Experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics platform leadership, or related areas. Proven experience as a Data Architect designing and implementing enterprise data and analytics platforms. Strong experience with Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouse, warehouse, pipelines, and analytics capabilities. Hands-on experience with Power BI, including semantic models, governance, dashboards, and reporting architecture. String experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms. Strong experience with ETL/ELT, integration platforms such as SnapLogic or equivalent, and enterprise data movement patterns. Strong understanding of data modeling, lakehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and analytics frameworks. Experience implementing data governance, data quality, observability, and monitoring frameworks. Experience integrating data across enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, field service, and operational platforms. Experience leading teams and delivering platform capabilities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewisville, TX. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
