Job Profile Summary

To teach couples the Creighton Model Fertility Care System of recognizing the cycles of fertility and infertility to achieve or avoid pregnancy or to monitor gynecologic health.

Job Description Safety/Risk Management

  • Maintains accurate and complete client records.
  • Follows confidentiality policies/procedures.
  • Complies with clients rights/regulations.
  • Introduces and monitors techniques under research.
  • Develops and evaluates forms, teaching aids and program materials.
  • Serves as a resource for referrals to the hospital, physicians and others. Provides various services and guidance pertaining to fertility care, including, but not limited to: - Advanced case management in teaching Creighton Model Fertility Care System and related health issues - Resources in area of NaProTechnology and human sexuality
  • Conducts introductory sessions for couples and large groups, presenting prepared slide presentation with standardized commentary, and offering a question and answer session.
  • Assures the availability of Creighton Model Fertility Care System consultation (24 hours/day).
  • Assists in the completion of statistics and preparation of records.
  • Conducts follow ups according to standardized follow up protocol.
  • Coordinates local site, reporting to the Manager of Fertility Care Services Mercy Hospital, St. Louis
  • Is responsible for overall functioning of Fertility Care Services office on site.
  • Performs outreach activities to physicians, community groups and organizations.
  • Gives presentations on Creighton Model Fertility Care System to couples in Christian marriage classes, high school students, church groups, nursing students, residents and hospital staff.
  • Represents Mercy Hospital at community outreach functions.
  • Demonstrates competence in initiating and maintaining use of routine equipment and procedures.

Additional Job Description

Education: Must have completed Education Phase I of an accredited Fertility Care Practitioner Education Program.

Experience: Completion of two teaching practicums of supervised teaching as required by an accredited Fertility Care Practitioner Program or be actively completing teaching practicums under supervision.

Certifications: Must be certified as a Fertility Care Practitioner by the American Academy of Fertility Care Professionals as soon as eligible for certification. Preferred Experience: OB/GYN experience preferred, healthcare system experience, previous FCP experience
