POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Extension Rural-Urban Leadership Program (RULE) is hiring a Program Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Senior Extension Educator of the RULE, an adult leadership development program with Penn State Extension, in the College of Agricultural Sciences. This position requires an individual who is highly motivated for a welcome first point of contact.

This role manages all aspects of RULE Study Institutes by coordinating speakers, agendas, schedules, rooming lists, meals, and venue logistics in partnership with the Director, while ensuring dietary needs and PSU guidelines are met. This position will be onsite to maintain smooth session flow and respond to emerging needs. Additional responsibilities include preparing and reviewing materials, coordinating homework assignments and presentations, compiling and sharing speaker bios, managing correspondence with Scholars and venues, and leading evaluation efforts through Qualtrics by creating surveys, coding impact data, and sharing results with stakeholders, advisory board members, and Extension leadership. This position will work closely with the alumni and will assist in interval alumni reunions.

This position is related to leadership and outreach on a broad-based network, including "The International Association of Programs for Agricultural Leadership." This position requires an individual with outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. This position requires someone who can develop and prepare special reports, coordinate event planning, visual design and maintenance of calendars, social media platforms, and website. This position will provide layout coordination and design for articles and social media posts relative to the RULE Program.

This position includes approximately 10-13 days annually of overnight travel and occasional night and weekend work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Simba and PSUBuy is preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
