DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports county maintenance operations through purchasing, inventory management, and materials coordination. It oversees 813/822 procurement activities, maintains SAP materials functions, supports environmental compliance, and assists with budgeting and operational analysis. The position ensures the availability of equipment, supplies, and resources while providing backup support across maintenance and stockroom functions.

Key Duties
  • Manages 813/822 purchases, rented-equipment bids, vendor coordination, and RFQ processes.
  • Oversees materials functions in SAP Plant Maintenance/SRM, including purchasing, receiving, and issuing parts and supplies.
  • Coordinates scrap metal, waste oil, and hazmat removal and supports SEMP environmental objectives.
  • Conducts monthly inventory at county stockpiles and maintains winter-services material tracking.
  • Assists with budget monitoring, expenditure reporting, and cost/material usage research.
  • Provides backup support to Stock Clerk and RPT2 and prepares items for surplus or transfer.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
