DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Administrative Assistant 2 position, you will provide a high level of administrative support, participate in the supervision of clerical staff, and assist with Board Administrator duties as needed. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating and monitoring on-going daily workload requirements and, in conjunction with the Clerical Supervisor, establishing priorities accordingly. This includes overseeing and participating in work performed by clerical staff assigned to process applications for the physician professions, as well as assisting with the work of staff reporting. You may also assist with the hiring process of clerical staff, including participation on interview panels, candidate selections, and new hire onboarding. In the review of applications, our team will rely on your expertise and judgment to refer exceptional cases to Board Administrator or legal staff as required, maintain status records of these exceptional cases, and determine eligibility of selected applications. This includes providing information to the legal office concerning violations and complaints, as well as responding orally and in writing to information requests from the public, applicants, licensees, and support work units. You will also provide support to overall Bureau functions by assisting with Board Administrator duties, as needed, and performing duties for special projects involving unit activities. In collaboration with the Board Administrators you will help develop, maintain, and publish a manual of board laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will also collaborate with executive and other administrative staff to develop and oversee all staff training; develop form letters and application forms; and review proposed rules and regulations to determine their impact on the application review processes and staff operations. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Work schedule is negotiable.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) par-time, up to 50%, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
