DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of residents, materials, and equipment using various vehicles such as cars, vans, trucks, buses, and an invalid coach. Your tasks will include driving residents to medical appointments, treatments, and activities both on and off the facility grounds, while ensuring that all safety and locking mechanisms are properly engaged before departure. Additionally, you will handle the pickup and delivery of mail, supplies, and medications, operate snow-removal equipment during bad weather, and conduct routine vehicle inspections and minor repairs to keep everything in good working order. When not behind the wheel, you will assist with departmental duties like loading and unloading vehicles, maintaining workspaces, completing logs and paperwork, and safely using hand and power tools. You will also support facility operations by coordinating the transport of IT-related equipment, following all safety protocols, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents, and maintaining a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B with Passenger Endorsement. - Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
