Job Title: Accounting Professional 4 Location(s): Malvern, PA (Hybrid) Role Overview The Senior Accountant supports shared services accounting operations across multiple business units, handling complex accounting activities including general ledger, inventory, and financial reporting. This role works closely with business stakeholders to ensure compliance with IFRS standards and internal financial reporting guidelines, while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarterly close across ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
- Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries in accordance with IFRS.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve variances.
- Support inventory and costing activities, including SAP ACP processes and clearing old stock orders.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to business stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting guidelines and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with IT on SAP functionality and system-related improvements.
- Conduct process reviews to enhance controls, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting analytics within tight timelines.
- Support audit requirements and assist with documentation/report extraction.
- Contribute to tax reporting support by gathering required financial data.
- Participate in ad hoc projects, including system migrations and integration initiatives.
First 90-Day Focus Areas Inventory / Costing (Primary Focus Area)
- Support inventory accounting processes.
- Work on costing-related activities.
- Clear legacy stock sales orders.
General Ledger Accounting
- Prepare and park journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Support GL team with ongoing and ad hoc tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in general accounting (debits/credits, reconciliations, variance analysis).
- Experience with complex accounting topics and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of IFRS standards (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, FX, impairments).
- Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, reporting).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Inventory and costing experience.
- CPA or accounting degree.
- Experience with SAP (custom environments preferred).
- Exposure to Oracle ERP.
- Experience in shared services or large enterprise environments.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7 years of public accounting experience or 7+ years in private accounting.
Work Model
- Hybrid preferred (Malvern, PA).
- Initial onsite presence required for onboarding (equipment pickup and training).
- Remote option available only if local candidates are not identified.
- Must work in Eastern Time Zone.
Additional Notes
- Limited involvement in tax and audit; primarily support-based.
- High exposure to cross-functional teams including controllers, analysts, and senior accountants.
- Role designed to provide bandwidth support during a temporary staffing gap.
