General Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

Play a handson role in building safe, highquality projects by performing field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

You'll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives, ensuring project requirements are met through accurate testing, clear communication, and thorough documentation.

  • Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
  • Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
  • Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
  • Maintains assigned equipment.
  • Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Collecting and transporting material samples to the laboratory with proper documentation
  • Recording, organizing, and submitting test results and observations through clear written and digital reports.
  • Supporting timely daily reporting to Terracon project managers.
  • Maintaining equipment, vehicles, and work areas so they remain clean, organized, and ready for use.
  • Assisting with technician scheduling and dispatch as needed.
  • Working safely in accordance with strict safety standards and best practices.
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:

  • Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.

Required Certification:

  • Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
