Manufacturing Production Manager

Location: Whitsett, North Carolina

Function: US Manufacturing Operations

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing production manager oversees the daily operations of a manufacturing plant or a specific production area, ensuring efficient and effective production processes. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing activities to create goods, while also maintaining quality control and adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Execution:

Creating and managing production schedules, allocating resources, and optimizing workflows to meet demand.

Quality Control:

Implementing and maintaining quality control systems, ensuring products meet specified standards, and identifying and resolving defects.

Supervision and Leadership:

Managing and motivating production teams, providing guidance, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Resource Management:

Overseeing material procurement, inventory management, and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operations.

Budget and Cost Control:

Estimating costs, managing budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

Communication and Collaboration:

Liaising with other departments (e.g., sales, marketing, engineering) to align production with business needs and market demands.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong leadership and communication skills:

Essential for managing teams, communicating effectively with various stakeholders, and motivating employees.

Problem-solving and analytical skills:

Needed to identify and resolve production issues, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions.

Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes:

Understanding of relevant machinery, equipment, and production techniques.

Organizational and time management skills:

Crucial for managing multiple tasks, prioritizing work, and meeting deadlines.

Experience in the manufacturing industry:

Relevant experience in production planning, quality control, and team management.


Basic Qualification

  • 6+ years experience in operations management (Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (SFDC, SAP, Oracle, etc...)
  • Education: BS or BA degree or equivalent experience in Logistic Operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Metrics measurements (i.e. delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)
  • Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Lean Mfg, Six Sigma, ISO, internal initiatives)
  • Safety Program compliance (OSHA, DOT, and state and local agencies)
  • Proven competencies in (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, MS Office)
  • Electronics manufacturing or Distribution background required, EMS experience preferred.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate, report, select and implement cost-effective, distribution operations.
  • Demonstrated Leadership ability and a proven track record of success to support abilities.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to establish an environment that is conducive of continuous improvement, open communication and is free from controversy.
