Deriva Energy is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support corporate procurement functions across the organization. This role is based at the company's headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This role supports strategic sourcing, supplier coordination and governance, contract negotiation, and procurement controls across G&A and shared-services categories. The role operates partners closely with Finance, Engineering, Human Resources, Legal, IT, and Corporate Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic sourcing activities for G&A categories including finance, accounting, HR, benefits, recruiting, professional services, contingent labor, and select IT/SaaS spend.

  • Assist in developing and executing category strategies that optimize cost, manage risk, and ensure service quality across corporate functions.

  • Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs; evaluate proposals and lead commercial negotiations in partnership with Finance, HR, Legal, and business stakeholders.

  • Negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements, renewals, amendments, and commercial resolution in coordination with Legal and Finance.

  • Establish and manage preferred supplier programs, rate cards, and master agreements to drive consistency and leverage.

  • Support supplier relationship management including performance reviews, renewals, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, SOX controls, delegation of authority, and audit requirements.

  • Support the end-to-end procure-to-pay lifecycle, ensuring accurate requisitioning, PO issuance, and alignment with financial controls.

  • Identify opportunities to standardize suppliers, contracts, and commercial terms across G&A spend categories.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes, governance frameworks, tools, and reporting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance or related field

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, associate degree with three (3) years of experience OR HS/GED with five (5) years or more of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with five (5) years or more of relevant experience with one (1) year or more of relevant work experience

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, associate's degree with four (4) years or more of experience OR HS/GED with six (6) years or more of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting G&A, corporate, or shared-services procurement

  • Strong contract negotiation experience across professional services, staffing, contingent labor, HR, benefits providers, and SaaS

  • Working knowledge of commercial and legal terms common to corporate services agreements, including confidentiality, data protection, indemnities, SLAs, and termination rights

  • Experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment with strong procurement governance and audit support

  • Understanding of commercial risk allocation and supplier performance management

  • Experience with procure-to-pay (P2P) processes and ERP systems (e.g., IBM Maximo and NetSuite)

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams

Working Conditions

  • This role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina

  • Employees must live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated office location

  • Four days in office required, with the option to work remotely one day per week
