Job Description About the Role

The Resin Material Handler - Shift Lead plays a key hands-on leadership role on the production floor. This position coordinates resin material handling activities during the shift to support production readiness and continuity. The role provides guidance and direction to resin material handlers, supports shift leadership, and helps ensure materials are handled, stored, and tracked accurately. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and accountability.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production floor to support continuous operations.
  • Ensure production lines are supplied with the correct materials to meet production demands.
  • Coordinate daily material handling activities and provide shift-level leadership and direction.
  • Monitor material usage to support accuracy, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Verify materials are properly labeled, protected, and stored in designated locations.
  • Follow all required safety, food safety, quality, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Complete required safety inspections on forklifts and other powered equipment prior to operation.
  • Inspect trailers before loading or unloading to ensure safe use.
  • Ensure regrind materials are handled, moved, and tracked correctly throughout the facility.
  • Calculate and verify material weights to support inventory accuracy and production reporting.
  • Communicate clearly with shift leads, supervisors, and production team members.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and support to resin material handlers.
  • Assist with unloading bulk deliveries and railcars and provide clear shift updates on progress.
  • Load and unload bulk material deliveries and complete required material tracking documentation.
  • Enter material usage and production-related information into company systems as required.
  • Support supervisory or lead duties during absences to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when safety or operational concerns arise.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proven reliability with a strong work ethic and consistent attendance.
  • Basic reading comprehension and math skills required for material handling and inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to lead by example and promote a team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to remain effective and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Forklift experience required; current certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to waist level.
  • Ability to handle and transport full totes using a fork truck.
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods throughout the shift.
