Job Summary: B&A is seeking a SAP Manufacturing Production and Test Management (PTM) - Functional Managing Consultant to support a federal government client operating within a classified environment. This role is responsible for leading the functional design, configuration, and sustainment of SAP Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) solutions to support defense and energy sector manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate brings deep functional expertise in SAP PP/QM configuration, a strong command of federal and defense manufacturing standards, and the leadership capability to manage workstreams and guide junior consultants in the delivery of complex manufacturing solutions within a highly secure and regulated environment. Responsibilities:
- Lead the functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP Production and Test Management (PTM) processes within the SAP PP (Production Planning) and QM (Quality Management) modules to support defense and energy manufacturing operations.
- Serve as the functional lead and primary point of contact for the PTM workstream, managing scope, deliverables, stakeholder alignment, and junior consultant contributions across the engagement
- Analyze and translate complex federal manufacturing requirements - including production orders, work center management, routing configurations, inspection lots, and quality notification workflows - into functional design specifications and system configuration
- Configure and maintain core SAP PP components including Bills of Materials (BOMs), work centers, routings, production order management, capacity planning, and material requirements planning (MRP) integration
- Design and configure SAP QM inspection plans, inspection characteristics, control charts, quality certificates, and defect recording workflows to support manufacturing quality assurance and compliance requirements
- Oversee integration touchpoints between SAP PP/QM and related modules including MM (Materials Management), PM (Plant Maintenance), SD (Sales & Distribution), and CO (Controlling)
- Lead requirements-gathering workshops, fit-gap analysis sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT) with federal manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance stakeholders.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to junior consultants on the PTM workstream, ensuring quality of deliverables and adherence to project and client standards
- Develop and maintain functional design documents, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and end-user training materials for all PTM components
- Ensure all manufacturing and quality configurations remain compliant with federal defense manufacturing standards, DCMA/DCAA requirements, agency-specific operational policies, and security protocols applicable to the classified operating environment
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SAP Manufacturing configuration and implementation with a focus on Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting federal government clients or operating within regulated, defense, or classified manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP PP and QM configuration including BOMs, routings, work centers, production orders, inspection plans, inspection lots, and quality notification management
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Required Skills:
- Deep functional knowledge of SAP Production Planning (PP) including BOMs, work centers, routings, production orders, capacity planning, and MRP/MPS configuration.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) including inspection plans, inspection lots, control charts, quality notifications, defect management, and certificate of conformance processing
- Strong understanding of end-to-end production-to-test process flows and their integration with SAP MM, PM, SD, and CO modules
- Experience leading PP/QM workstreams on SAP implementations or sustainment engagements in defense, aerospace, energy, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Ability to gather, document, and validate manufacturing and quality business requirements from federal engineering, production, and QA stakeholders
- Familiarity with federal defense manufacturing standards including MIL-STD, AS9100, ISO 9001, and DCMA quality assurance oversight requirements
- Proficiency in developing functional specifications, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and end-user training materials
- Strong communication and client-facing skills with the ability to present complex manufacturing system concepts to both technical teams and senior operations leadership
- Experience working within federal or highly regulated IT environments with adherence to strict security and compliance protocols
Desired Skills:
- SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing or SAP PP/QM certification
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing for Production Engineering and Operations (PEO) or Advanced Production Scheduling (APS)
- Familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) integration with PP/QM for equipment-driven production and maintenance-triggered quality inspection workflows
- Knowledge of nuclear or defense manufacturing compliance requirements applicable to DOE national laboratory or weapons complex environments
- Experience supporting Agile or SAFe delivery methodologies within federal IT programs
- Prior experience on DOE, DOD, or other federal agency SAP manufacturing implementations
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret (TS) or DOE Q clearance is required; eligibility for SCI access may be required depending on program assignment
