Responsibilities

Job Summary

The role of the Post Cast Production Planner is to monitor and expedite the flow of castings through the manufacturing process in Post Cast operations to meet customer delivery requirements and Howmet commitments. Function includes interface between Master Scheduling efforts and Post Cast Manufacturing. This role involves post cast scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the expedient flow of parts through manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers' delivery requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:

  • Ensures post casting material flow to meet manufacturing takt times to support targeted net production.
  • Provides prioritization and expediting to manufacturing to achieve Master Scheduler's customer commit dates.
  • Coordinates post cast material flow to ensure full engine sets / minimum ship quantities reach final verify together so shipments aren't delayed.
  • Works with the Outplant Production Planner to ensure steady workflow to outplant operations.
  • Validates inventory accuracy in their assigned area and rectify and discrepancies.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine status of scheduled work.
  • Represents planning and supply chain in area departments TIER II meetings.
  • Expectation is at least half of the shift will be spent on the production floor ensuring proper material flow so ability to stand and walk for long periods of time is required.
  • This position requires some nights and weekends to support end-of-the-month activities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in supply chain or business from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years Production Control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Howmet's OHCMS manufacturing system
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Investment Casting and Howmet equipment capabilities and constraints
  • Independent, motivated, self-starter who can work with little supervision but also in a team environment.
