Job Title: Maintenance Technician II - 3rd Shift Work Location: Chantilly VA 20151 Duration: 3 months Shift:2:00 PM to 10:30 PM -on-call for 24/7 coverage in the building Job Description Position ensures that the facilities are kept in good repair and working order. Responsibilities * Serves as electrician in repairing basic electrical malfunctions of a minor nature and installing new equipment.? * May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems; and in opening clogged drains. ? * Acts as a carpenter in the alternation, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.?? * May operate hand saw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.?? * Will maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use all tools carefully and as instructed.?? * May perform minor repairs to air conditioning system as directed and see to general maintenance of system.?? * Provides follow-up on all quality control issues.?? * Performs such other duties as may be assigned.? Qualifications Required Work Experience: More than 5 years experience in general building maintenance Preferred Work Experience: N/A Physical and Mental Requirements: * Good general physical condition * The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.? * Ability to stand and work for long periods of time.? * Frequent walking and/or standing.? Knowledge: * General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades?? * Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment and codes.? Skills: * Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following instructions of a supervisor.?? * Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions * Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing. Additional Job Details: Need critical site experience with specialized skills in boilers, chillers, HVAC, Refrigeration, electrical, etc. as outlined in the job descriptions. | |
