Responsibilities

Position Overview:
Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to research, design, and implement advanced data analytics solutions to meet mission-critical objectives. The role requires an innovative mindset to optimize intelligence operations by gathering requirements, developing actionable algorithms, and providing enterprise-level analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

    Design and implement algorithms for pattern recognition, OPSEC automation, and intelligence data analysis.
  • Develop visualization tools and reports to enable mission owners to extract actionable insights.
  • Build APIs and pipelines to operationalize algorithms within enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with teams to align requirements and milestones with broader development efforts.
  • Conduct advanced analytics using Apache, Hadoop, SAS, and Tableau.
  • Develop machine learning algorithms for pattern detection and opportunity identification on operational data.
  • Present key findings through data visualization platforms like Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana, or Kibana.


Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in an area relevant to the position with 6+ years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
  • Advanced knowledge of data science toolkits such as Apache, Hadoop, and SAS.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, C++, SQL, and visualization technologies.
  • Experience with intelligence data (e.g., telemetry), machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
