Introduction

Serving as the civic center of the community, LCPL provides free and equal access to a full variety of library resources and innovative technologies to enhance the quality of life and meet the informational, educational, and cultural interests of the entire community.


Job Summary

Loudoun County Public Library is seeking qualified applicants for a Libraries Programming Coordinator. Under the direction of the Division Manager of Programming & Community Engagement, this position will coordinate, promote, host and evaluate programs and special events; identify, develop and nurture community partnerships; respond to community needs; support library services; enhance the library's mission, vision and goals; and inspire the community to become life-long learners and library users.

This position will work with branch staff and the Programming and Community Engagement Division to ensure the cohesive, system-wide delivery of high quality, innovative programs, presentations, and special events for focused audiences. The position will also identify, develop and nurture community partnerships, and identify and engage with key populations to better understand needed programs and services and promote library offerings. This will include the development and distribution of marketing materials and social media content, and direct outreach to the community through traditional and online platforms. The position assists in the development of special projects that enhance LCPL's services.

Work schedules and assignments will vary, including frequent weekends and evenings.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Loudoun County provides a language stipend for individuals who pass a language proficiency test.


Minimum Qualifications

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related work experience.

Minimum 6 months of professional experience in community development/outreach/engagement strongly preferred. Extensive library programming experience, graphic design skills for flyers and other promotional materials strongly preferred. Marketing skills using traditional and online platforms and strong verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred.
