Gymnastics Specialist - Beverly YMCA
YMCA of the North Shore Are you passionate about gymnastics and helping children build confidence, strength, and a love for movement? The Beverly YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Gymnastics Specialist to join our growing program and help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment for athletes of all skill levels. In this role, you'll work closely with children in both our recreational and team gymnastics programs, helping athletes develop skills while supporting a positive transition from recreation classes into more advanced team opportunities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring young athletes, building relationships with families, and creating an environment where every child feels successful and supported.
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate gymnastics classes in a safe and supportive environment
- Teach gymnastics fundamentals while building confidence, coordination, and teamwork
- Support athletes as they progress from recreational gymnastics into team programming
- Encourage skill development and help identify participants ready for advancement opportunities
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children of all backgrounds and abilities
- Collaborate with families, coaches, and leadership to support participant growth and success
- Assist with showcases, special events, and program activities
- Maintain equipment, organization, and safety standards throughout the gymnastics space

Qualifications
Experience in Teaching, Youth Services, Recreation, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Must have, or be willing to obtain, YMCA certifications and any related permits/licenses as required.
Highly engaging interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all segments of the community.
Flexible schedule to accommodate program needs, including evenings and weekends as required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience leading diverse youth programs with children of various ages, including supervisory or leadership experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Must be physically and mentally capable to maintain the skills required by certifications.
Ability to respond appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to actively participate in program activities and ensure the safety and engagement of all participants.
